Double glazed, insulated glass
Insulated glass consists of two or three layers of flat or bent glass that are separated by a spacer at a certain distance. The space between the glass layers is completely waterproofed by polysulfide adhesive. Inside the spacer also there are suitable dehumidifiers to remove the moisture in the space between the layers. The type of gas within the layers depends on requested insulation level, varies. Insulation effect of double glazed glass will be improved by filling special gases such as Argon, krypton and xenon instead of air.
The combination of multi layers of glass and filled gas in the space between the layers, makes double glazed glass a suitable type for economizing energy and heat and also reducing noise pollution in building windows, hospitals, libraries, museums and buildings margined to the populated streets.
Recently to establish more comfort and security, double-glazed glass is fitted to the windows of vehicles such as train wagons and intercity buses.
